eNABLE Odenton has been operating for almost a year and has provided hands to three people, changing their lives, but we can do so much more! From outreach to design, fabrication, and delivery, eNABLE Odenton wants to push the limits of what 3D printers can do and use that to help people in need.
We started small, with a single volunteer in 2017 who founded the chapter with his own printer, and now we have almost three dozen members spread across three states and we have supported people in need of prosthetic devices from Delaware to Oregon. We've reached the limits of what our volunteers can give, and so we are looking to partner with others who want to help us lend a hand to people in our community.
We need to purchase a dedicated 3D printer that can be used full-time to support the chapter's production, both for new users, and for educational outreach. Your support can help us ensure that we can respond quickly to people in need, with both volunteer-provided printers and our own dedicated machine.
Additionally, we need support to purchase assembly supplies, tools and filament in many colors so that we can help our users feel good about their new hand, no matter if it's pink and glow-in-the-dark or flesh-toned.
We are seeking partnerships with local schools and libraries to bring our efforts to them in the form of educational outreach for kids, to expose them to the wonders of computer-aided design and 3D printing. We live in a world where an idea can be made real within a few hours, and we want to share that with kids while we help others at the same time.
Your support will help us purchase the equipment, tools, and supplies that we need to continue to operate, expand our ability to support the larger eNABLE mission around the world, and bring real life-changing devices to kids and adults who need them at no cost to the family.
Thanks for reading, and we look forward to working with you!
